Psyched to Sing

I can't believe we're already thinking about the fall but we are.  Just to let you know what is coming down the pipe:

September 24th - write it down!  Full day vocal improv workshop in Calgary (details in the previous blog post)

It looks as though I will be leading monthy vocal improvisation workshop evenings both in Canmore and in Calgary - everyone is invited!

I will let people know in this space when we get the logistics worked out, but people seem hungry to sing with the freedom improv offers, so let's do it!

I also want to encourage people to consider joining a singing group, church choir or community choir - in addition to improv, it's great to be singing "set" stuff in a group and let the two types of singing work together to help you grow as a singer.  In Canmore and Banff, check out the Valley Winds Music Association (www.valleywindsmusic.org), in Cochrane, look up the Cochrane Music Society (www.cochranemusic.ca) and there are lots of choirs and choruses in Calgary for all kinds of different singing experiences.

I am pretty much full for my weekly guitar lesson spaces in the fall, but if you are an adult interested in group beginner guitar lessons, let me know and I'll see if we can wrangle up enough bodies to run a group - either in the fall or before that.  There are still lots of campfire weekends left before the serious snow.

In the meantime, I hope to see you out to one of the vocal improv evenings or the full day in September.  Sing on!
